I have a few left over commercial radios which will work on the ham bands.  One shop was almost rude “We don’t program amateur radios!”

So it turns out it is cheaper to buy the adapter and software on line than it is to make one trip to the dealer.  I have a couple of older Midland Syntech’s and there is an eprom replacement that is programmable and quadruples the capacity to 320 channels with an external switch.

I’m interested in your Midland Syntech eprom replacement as I have a UHF and VHF Syntech that I use on the ham bands and for Auxiliary police, fire, and SAR.

THe EPROM replacement is from a company in British Columbia and ‘was’ advertized on eBay for quite a while and of course now I can’t find it. They are PC programmable through a parallel port connection and with an external switch to select groups will store 320 channels. When I find it I will email you and post it here.
